The República Garden is place of great significance located in a highly urbanised area in the centre of the city. The design proposes a flexible space to establish a platform between urban input and the surrounding buildings. During daytime it functions primarily as an urban garden though it could also accommodate cultural events, small markets etc.
The general concept of the intervention is realised by an organised matrix which proposes coherent function to the existing scattered elements. This system incorporates the existing architectural elements and arboreal covering to define the area of intervention. It outlines a new structure of internal routes in the garden as a compositional layer that allows alternating spatial experiences.
