From analysis focusing on the visible and mutational aspects of the area under study, we may describe the territory as filled by a layer of agricultural meaning, but de-characterised both in terms of the traditional nexus of the Ferrara agricultural landscapes and in terms of the dominant prevailing agricultural context.  The existing pattern corresponds to a disinterested attitude and results in a characterless landscape, almost abstract, made up of stereotypes and very homogeneous. The strategy consists of defining a linear element structure, nodal and extensive, able to structure a new territory – neither urban, nor agricultural – fundamentally made up of elements superimposed onto the neutral agricultural surface corresponding to the existing situation.
