The Landscape Architecture intervention, in Rua do Quelhas quarter, concerns an area consisting of adjacent squares with different levels with a three metre difference between them. The solution for the circulation between the squares aimed at the recovery of the traditional connection between areas with different levels in the city of Lisbon, with staircases with a central handrail, accompanied by flower beds, planting boxes or benches.
The paving in the pedestrian areas is of limestone mosaic with pieces of 5x5cm each and in the parking area with 10x10cm each. The plants in the planting boxes are herbs, bushes and judas-trees (Cercis siliquastrum). For the street layout we chose bigger trees so that the parking area will be protected by their shadow: Celtis ausralis. The irrigation will proceed with an automatic trickle system to assure that the water consumption is rational. The urban furniture punctuates the surrounding area, according to a scheme, without blocking the circulation areas.
